I grew up like a normal city girl in Guatemala. Life took me on a journey, in which I left beautiful eternal spring Guatemalan lands, and FOUND myself here in the jungles of Hawai’i Nei.
In finding my true self, I became a wife, a mother, land stewardess, full spectrum doula and mentor for young girls, and their guides.
I have always been an artist, since I can remember I have used my hands and imagination to create. And over the past 3 years, I dove into a world that needed remembrance, the world of the Sacred Rites of Passage. Now I hold space and facilitate many rites, from birth, the bridge into adulthood, motherhood and the parting final journey.
I have created games and learning resources for young girls, women and boys to learn about the importance of their changing bodies.
Sacred Rites Cards were created with the intention to remind us to celebrate each of these passages into a new phase of our journey and that of the ones we love. They are block prints of my art, most done on recycled paper or on kraft paper. I use old seed catalogs to make the envelopes, reusing to create has always been a passion to me.
The sales of Sacred Rites Cards will be used towards the creation of “The Chrysalis” a place of Emergence, a safe space for coming of age girls and boys to learn about their body changes, guides of young girls and boys to be supported, and for ceremony to be held as our children walk the bridge into adulthood.
