Suzy Sanxter fell in love with throwing pottery in high school in Michigan. In 1978 Suzy moved to Hilo to attend UHH and has lived in Hilo since. She is a retired plant chemist with 38 years of service with the USDA—Agricultural Research Service in Hilo. She’s been throwing again wholeheartedly since retiring 5 years ago. Suzy most enjoys creating functional pieces in a variety of shapes with textured surfaces and colorful glazes.
